FAITH HAPPENS BOOKS

HAVE YOU READ THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL BOOK BY AN EVANGELICAL IN 2019 YET?

It’s time you get a copy of REBOOTING THE BIBLE and join many who have read it and are astounded to learn a multitude of facts about how we got our Bible and why The Greek Old Testament (the Septuagint, aka LXX):

  • Was the basis for over 80% of the quotations of the Old Testament in the New Testament.

  • Was also the Bible of the early Church for its first 300 years.

  • And is the Bible for the Greek (Eastern) Orthodox Church (and has never stopped being its Bible.)

Here are a few of the more recent comments:

This is not another translation.
This is recognizing an existing translation that is used by a large number of Christians.
This is the translation likely used by Jesus, the disciples, the Apostles, and church fathers until the time of Jerome.
To put it another way, why did Egyptologists accept a date based on the Bible during the great digs of the late 19th century, and then fail to recognize current archaeological findings of a Semitic presence in Egypt at least one hundred years earlier?
Add to this some earlier errors in translation of non-biblical texts that are key to identifying the proper kings of Egypt and their various forays into the middle East?
There is an even larger problem S. Douglas Woodward addresses, that requires individuals to ‘check their prejudices, preconceived notions at the door’.
Woodward does not write anything contrary to Scripture, heretical or blasphemous.
It will require skepticism not cynicism.
I’m looking forward to “Part 2”.

Have heard it said, history is written by the conquers. What a well-documented eye opener. Everyone seeking truth needs to read this.

I was a little skeptical when I first saw this book. But I thought the topic was interesting. So I decided to go into it with an open mind. Wow am I glad I did. This book was a blessing. Easily one of the best books I’ve read in the past couple of years. It is right up there with Heiser’s Unseen Realm.

I cannot wait for Part II of the book to come out.

This is a terrific look at Biblical chronology. The author argues that the existing timelines which have been based on various studies, and research into both ancient cultures and their documented information, as well as a breakdown in the Biblical chronology based on the King James Version of the Bible.
He argues that the chronology is flawed and the age of the earth should be readjusted. The basis for his argument is mistakes in various timelines and or research done into ancient names, places, and perspective dates, as well as a controversial theory that the ancient Hebrew manuscript of the Bible, the Masoretic text, was edited by the council of Jamnia in A.D. 70 for the purpose of denying that Jesus is the Messiah promised by God.
The author compares the timeline of the Greek translation of the Old Testament Bible, the Septuagint or LXX, to that of the Hebrew Bible, the Masoretic Text. He argues that editing was done by showing the very obvious changes made by Rabbi Akiba, and others at Jamnia, to produce a uniform Hebrew Old Testament rejecting Jesus of Nazareth as Messiah in the ensuing years after the destruction of Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Corrupt Bible

I never knew my Bible was corrupt, always thought it was infallible and inerrant, that is, until I read S. Douglas Woodward’s Part 1 exposé on The Bible. I learned when, how, and the big “WHY” the Masoretic Text of the Old Testament was changed by “Antichristian” Rabbis of Judaism. It reveals the Big, Big, BIG Mistakes in the MT and why the Roman Orthodox Church remains faithful to the Septuagint aka LXX. The timing is prescient because I was an Evangelical Christian (Fundamentalist KJV-Only type Baptist for much of the time, actually) for decades, but converted to the ANCIENT Eastern Orthodox Church in 2018. The Bible is part of the Holy Tradition in our Church and Holy Tradition is infallible, and thank GOD, the LXX is our OT and not the MT. 🙂 Since I enjoy reading about history, especially of ancient warfare and empires with a good conspiracy weaved in, I was delighted to be taken by Woodward into the 1st and 2nd centuries when ALL OUT WAR broke out between the Jews and the Romans. Most importantly, I learned about Rabbi Akiba, who is key to modern-day Rabbinical Judaism. Having said this, I need to note here that I do not view this book or the author to be anti-Semitic at all. There is no hate of Jews that I can detect. For in as much as Muslims, Judaizers and Atheists are Anti-Christians in the religious theological sense, this is a Christian-based thesis. Likewise, Woodward’s thesis is clearly Anti-Judaism in the religious theological sense. Rebooting the Bible is well-documented and well-footnoted. He seems to be writing this self-published book as if he were writing his thesis for his Doctorate in Theology and seeking peer review. I am looking forward to reading and learning more in PART 2.
