THE FASCINATING CONVERGENCE OF PHYSICS AND THE BIBLE

For almost two centuries, the world of Science has been the enemy of the realm of the Spirit. However, over the past several decades, new discoveries in physics and advanced theories in Science have narrowed the chasm between the two traditional enemies regarding our knowledge of reality. Nature and Spirit, heaven and earth, appear to be converging. Are we witnessing a prophecy being fulfilled in these last days?

In this episode of The Hot Seat, Chris Steinle and I explore these issues.

In THE SINGULARITY PROPHECY (one of many books Chris has written), Chris digs into the story of how spiritual and scientific knowledge now mirror one another.

Steinle walks us through world religions first. He demonstrates how there have always been views espousing a union of heaven and earth, and that humanity is destined to move on from a natural life to a supernatural one. The so-called ‘World Tree,’ common across dispersed cultures and present throughout history, proves this fact.

As science closed out the nineteenth century, new theories about the relationship between ‘space-time’ and nuclear dynamics closed the gap due to the mystery of ‘the uncertainty principle’ and ‘relativity of time.’ Of course, this would lead to nuclear power and generate, however fanciful, new stories of time travel.

Moving much closer to our own era, the hidden properties of atoms, aka sub-atomic particles (e.g., bosons, quarks, muons, neutrinos) have been detected by what we call ‘particle accelerators.’ Despite plausible categorization of these ‘smaller than small’ elements of atoms, science has pushed deeper to ideas like ‘String Theory’ and ‘Super-symmetry.’

Perhaps the most intriguing element of these discoveries is what is known as ‘entangled particles.’ Albert Einstein found himself challenged by what was uncovered. Turned out, particles distant from one another, would maintain unified properties. This would be true even if galaxies apart.

The significance? Speeds far greater than ‘light speed’ would be necessary to explain entanglement. This hinted at a mysterious underlying foundation of reality, namely a realm of the Spirit, that could explain such mysteries and prove convincingly that what we know about the Universe still escapes all methods of detection and measurement.

Steinle expounds on what is known as ‘wave-particle duality.’ This too, increases the mystery of reality as many scientists believe that all of reality is comprised of non-local ‘fields’ rather than precise points of being.

Beyond this conundrum, is the complexity of what is known as ‘multi-world’ theory, of the possibility that there are billions of universes spawned by decisions of conscious observers.

Does the subjective consciousness of human beings serve as catalyst to what happens at the smallest level of reality?

In other worlds, it is more than whether ‘when a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound?’ Without an observer, a sentient being possessing consciousness, does any tree ever fall at all without an observer? Is this notion controversial? Of course, and yet it reinforces the fact that scientists, physicists specifically, question whether the conclusions drawn about the universe in the past two decades or so, are flat wrong. The ‘God Particle’ (a particle that contains ‘mass’ and is why ‘mass’ exists in the Universe), is not such a certainty at the moment.

Once again, the existence of the ‘supernatural’ implying the reality of God and other spiritual beings, stands once more despite atheists who wish to conclude there is no God. Science was once the primary means to support their view. Now, the mysteries of nature exposed by advances in physics theory reinstate the realm of Spirit.

100 years ago, there was a ‘rage against heaven.’ Steinle explains to us how today we are seeing a new kind of ‘singularity.’ The convergence of heaven and earth. He explores why this conception of the way things are is even prophesied in the Bible.

I strongly recommend the book for those persons who relish the interplay between scientific thought and spiritual insight. It is vast in its scope, but specific in its conclusions. Chris writes well and makes the complex comprehensible.
