This 75 minute conversation is a stunning and inspiring witness of a remarkable pastor who lives in Vyborg, Russia (north of St. Petersburg, 70 miles from the Finnish border), and who pastors a truly evangelical church (old school you might say), where evangelicalism and discipleship is practiced as a way of life. Wow! What an example and what a contrast with what is happening with the evangelical church in America.

He tells of growing up in the Soviet Union, especially during the times when it was falling apart in the late 1980s. We learn what it was like for someone who was taught atheism and marxism from the Soviet State to come to Christ. He talks about his family background (Jewish) and how that affected his parents, his social contacts, and ultimately, played a key role in his coming to faith in Jesus Christ.

The story includes a telling of the watchful eye of the KGB and their influence on his family, attempting to get his mom and father to spy for the State and eventually, spy on each other! Incredible.
Andre also discusses his growth as an evangelist, his leading his class of 24 students all to Jesus Christ (he began as a teacher), and his outlook on how to lead a church today.
Andre has come to America several times. He points out the dramatic change in America from a 2002 to 2012 and how the atmosphere has become, well, apostate.
I won’t say much more, but the story grows more and more intriguing as it unfolds. You will absolutely enjoy this. It will speak to your heart and your mind. Brace yourself. It is enlightening and disturbing.
